How To Art

PRESENTED ON DEC 19, 2015
IN BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN @ VOL 6

Hilman Omar, self-taught artist, talked about how a simple drawing made a big difference in his life. He told how the Internet was a treasure trove of information and knowledge, filled with tutorials of every kind where people were willing to provide what they knew free-of-charge.

He pointed things that other artists like himself may come up against like better artists, bitter criticism and lack of motivation but he gave a solution; attitude. Changing his attitude gave him new light and altered his perspectives.

My Life as an Illustrator

BY ARON VELLEKOOP LEÓN
@ VOL 5 ON FEB 28, 2013

Aron Vellekoop León (Fuerteventura, Spain 1987) is a graphic designer & illustrator, currently living and working in The Netherlands. His work is best described as a mix of symmetrical shapes, a plain usage of elementary colors
and reused textures. This basic recipe has led to a characteristic infographical 'handwriting' and an abstract way of storytelling. Being inspired by traditional printmaking techniques, Aron always stays close to that handcrafted look and feel.
