In essence, it's all about matching a bookface to the real-life world. Franziska shares her experiences with the discipline as well as the story behind it all.

Japanese Wood Crafts

In a short story across the world, Yukiko Izumi tells us how she picked up a keen interest in the japanese wood craftsmanship called "kumiko".

The audience is taken through some beautiful examples and the culture surrounding the art, before finally discussing how to keep it all alive for the next generation.

In this evening's break period, people were even lucky enough to get to try it hands-on, as Yukiko had brought some lovely samples!

Vejle-based freelance philosopher Justin Carmien takes a trip to Aarhus, to talk about the next societal movement: Metamodernism.

Justin talks about the satirical and often pessimistic world of today, where negativity is good television. And he gives us a lightning introduction to metamodernism - The emerging movement where intimacy and listening are the most important aspects.

Aarhus Lindy Hoppers

Starting out with a dance routine - which you sadly had to be there to witness - the two lovely ladies from Aarhus Lindy Hoppers (Sarah-Linn Brandstad-Hindal & Dovile Mikutiene) swing by to tell us about their love for the dance.

But as they both explain: It's much more than just a dance. It's a great community, with a lot of people across the globe to share it with!

The Human Side of Software

Kristofer Carta has a winding past, moving from politics to sociology to software development. Kristofer feels that people do not understand software well enough - Who it comes from, and what that means.

If software is just theories written down in code, then what happens when the core of writers is almost uniformly from the same demographic? "Software is people", Kristofer says, as he urges us to focus on getting all children and especially women interested in this field.

Aarhus-based artist Ulrik Myrtue is back at Pecha Kucha Aarhus to talk about "Eco activism", which it should not be named. What he's really doing is fighting for our future, so why not call it that?

Ulrik shows and tells us his path to becoming an animal rights activist and how that can land you in jail for a few hours. But all worth it to save the planet!
