Karlovci Grammar school, Powered by PechaKucha
Karlovci Grammar school is the oldest high school in Serbia (Karlovačka gimnazija, Sremski Karlovci) with the option of two different majors: classical languages and living languages. The classical language major focuses on the study of Ancient Greek and Latin, while the living language major studies English, Russian, French, German, Chinese, Italian, Spanish and from 2018, Norwegian and Japanese. Latin and English classes are mandatory for both majors throughout the four-year study, as well as one-year long Rhetorical course.
The PechaKucha presentation format inspired by “Topic Question of Ethics and Modern Society“ gives the students of Karlovci Grammar school the opportunity to participate in an international project by expressing themselves in Sremski Karlovci and Novi Sad, European Youth Capital 2019 and European Capital of Culture 2021. At the same time it enables students to use modern forms of presentation, to feel confident when publicly speaking, to think critically and to use cutting-edge technologies.
"Powered by PechaKucha" events are one-off events that are separate from regular city-based PechaKucha Nights, and that are usually held as part of festivals and conferences, but can also act as standalone events. These events include presentations that use the PechaKucha 20 images x 20 seconds format."
