Take a trip with us to the capital city of Newfoundland and Labrador, St. John’s, for our City Focus. St. John’s is located on the eastern tip of the Avalon Peninsula and is rich with both history and captivating beauty. It is one of the oldest european settlements in North America, dating back to 1519. As for the cityscape, the homes and buildings in St. John’s are radiant with color and have tremendous character. Participating in their first ever PechaKucha Night, St. John’s is going to be packed with creatives to the brim! We are so looking forward to seeing your colorful minds at St. John’s PechaKucha Night Vol. 1 at the end of this month! To celebrate their 20th PechaKucha night, we point the City Focus upon New Westminster, British Columbia. Alongside its rich heritage, the art and culture scene in New Westminster is up and coming with the Burlesque Festival and their bountiful theater productions. For their 20th PKN, New Westminster plans to invite presentations in doubles: 10 presentations x 2 presenters per presentation, all equaling out to 20 presenters. Best of luck to PechaKucha Night New Westminster Vol. 20 and your creative take on the PechaKucha 20x20. This will be an unforgettable evening and we can’t wait to see you all there!

This weeks city focus is on Kalispell, Montana, the gorgeous valley with a secret key to Glacier National Park. Rich with Native American influence, Kalispell is directly translated in Salish to “flat land above the lake.” Kalispell is the home to beautiful wildlife, trails, and mountain ranges, all interwoven by strikingly blue lakes nestled between. The vast space of Kalispell is reflected among the open minds that are coming to speak at PechaKucha Night Kalispell Vol. 5. Hope to see you there!

Follow us to Leiden, a small city located in South Holland for this weeks City Focus. Sewn together with quaint canals and rivers, Leiden is the home to Leiden University established in 1575; one of the oldest and most prominent in Europe. As a university town, Leiden is brimming with young, fresh, creative minds that will be generously represented in their upcoming PechaKucha Night, PechaKucha Night Leiden Vol. 24: The Next Generation. This week's City Focus highlights the famous temple town nestled in the Chubu region of Japan, Nagano. This picturesque city is teeming with charming temples dating back to the Nara period that complement the breathtaking landscapes. Living up to its expectation as a temple town, Nagano recently hosted PechaKucha Night Nagano Vol. 40 at the historic Choukokuji Temple. This week's City Focus lands on Scotland's largest financial center and second most populous city, Edinburgh. As the historical and cultural attraction of Scotland, the city is full some of Scotland's most renowned music theatres, museums, and art galleries. Edinburgh will be hosting its 39th installment of PechaKucha Night on June 15th. We are all looking forward to more amazing content from Edinburgh. Hope to see you all there!

City Focus: Vejle
This week's City Focus features one of PechaKucha Night's newest cities, Vejle. Located in Denmark, Vejle is known for its stunning scenery and historical contributions to the arts. Not only is Vejle celebrated for its natural beauty, it also has some of the most unique yet modern infrastructure in Denmark. This week's City Focus highlights the lovely seaside city of Long Beach, CA. With its delightful ocean view and intriguing sites such as the infamous RMS Queen Mary, Long Beach is home to a number of California's most popular tourist sites and renowned art and music centers. Long Beach natives often display their fascination for the arts and local culture by hosting numerous community events including PechaKucha Night. Scotland's charming coastal city Dundee lands under this week's City Focus spotlight. As Scotland's fourth largest city, Dundee has been gaining traction not only locally but also worldwide as a hotspot for travel and entertainment. This week's City Focus highlights the beautiful, mountainous capital of Utah, Salt Lake City. Having recently hosted their 24th volume in March, the PechaKucha creative community is looking forward to seeing more inspiring content from Salt Lake City soon. With their overflowing enthusiasm for bringing out the best in their community, we can only expect PechaKucha Night in Salt Lake City to get better and better from now going forward. Congrats to the new PKN Salt Lake City organizer Shelley Bodily for taking the reigns and continuing to spread the creativity in Utah! We are all wishing you the best in planning Vol. 25!
