Concepts in Time and Motion
“We are here in space at this moment…this is specific to human beings. The fly doesn’t live at our frame rate…to us [a movie] is motion, to them it’s a series of stills.”
Artist Jonathon Schipper captures a moment in time through sculpture. In “Concepts in Time and Motion” from PKN Brooklyn Vol. 2, he goes into depth on the perception humans and other beings have of time, space, speed, and motion, and displays his work: two cars crashed together incredibly slowly over the course of two months.
