Grab your raincoats or umbrellas! We are heading up to Seattle, Washington for this week's City Focus. Perched high in the Pacific Northwest, Seattle finds itself home to nearly 750,000 residents, as well being the unofficial coffee capital of the United States. Being the birthplace of the behemoth brand, Starbucks, amongst other brewers, this title is well deserved. Known today for being one of the most progressive cities in the states, their roots actually extend very deep into the land, with indigenous groups making the area their home around 4,000 years ago. Nowadays, Seattle is the host of what seems like countless famous companies and landmarks, including the picturesque Space Needle that towers at 600 feet. Their biggest attraction, however, could be the Pike Place Market, one of the oldest farmers markets in the country, which still receives over 10 million visitors annually. With all of that history and a nickname like "The Emerald City", it is easy to see why people are moving there by the masses.

If you are one of those people, make sure to stay tuned for updates from Ana Pinto de Silva, the city organizer for events coming down the pipeline!
