This week, we find ourselves heading to the southern hemisphere for our City Focus, landing in the beautiful destination of Christchurch, New Zealand. Dating back more than 150 years, Christchurch was the first official city in New Zealand and is the largest on the southern island, home to approximately 400,000 residents. Known as the "City of Gardens", it is host to over 700 parks and gardens, including the wonderfully grand Hagley Park, one of the larger city parks in the world. Close by, the famous Christchurch Botanic Gardens can provide a shady, peaceful environment filled with stunning plant life. For a little more excitement, the city and the surrounding suburbs also feature exciting attractions like Sumner Beach and the Adrenalin Forest.
It is safe to say that there is plenty to do if you live in the city or are just visiting, but if you want more, swing by Christchurch's Vol. 40 event on August 1st!
Through the face of many adversaries, Christchurch continues to stand tall and rebuild that which has been knocked down, persevering and acting as an inspiration to all of us around the globe. We stand with you, Christchurch!
